This year, to celebrate April Fools’ Day they taught GPT-3, the world’s most powerful text-generating algorithm, to make jokes. Now anyone on the internet can test the results of their work.

  Ammar Ali, a Master’s student at ITMO’s Information Technology and Programming Faculty, took first place in the American National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) competition where he had to create a model that predicts disturbances in the Earth’s geomagnetic field.

  The SoPop.ai platform analyzes a creator’s publications and identifies user reactions to them. It also helps companies search for blogs they can use for advertising purposes. • ITMO Researchers Develop Algorithm System to Boost Efficiency of COVID-19 Treatment

  Scientists at ITMO University have created a system of algorithms that uses data gathered from COVID-19 patients to suggest optimal treatment for every patient. The technology was originally developed for the treatment of cancer and cardiovascular diseases, but, given the current events, the system was taught to help COVID-19 patients. The algorithms are based on Russian and international clinical protocols.
