  • ITMO Graduates’ Salaries in IT Ranked Among Highest in Russia

    SuperJob, a Russian job-hunting platform, has published its annual ranking of Russian universities according to the size of salaries earned by graduates in the IT industry. ITMO climbed from third to second place in the federal ranking and retained its leading position among the universities of St. Petersburg. Moreover, this year, ITMO graduates experienced the biggest salary increase among their peers from other Russian IT universities.

  • ITMO Researchers Find Way to Make Packaging Cheap, Easy to Apply

    Color laser marking is a technology that helps brands protect their products by applying unique QR codes and barcodes. While the method is good at fighting counterfeiting, the process itself is rather complicated and time-consuming. But with the technology suggested by scientists from ITMO University, manufacturers can produce protective labels for a range of products, including jewelry and optical devices, in just two seconds with no expensive equipment needed. The results of the study were published in Materials Letters.

    Scientists from ITMO have come up with a three-step algorithm for the development of manipulators and walking or wearable robots. Compared to the usual methods, the new approach results in lighter, more efficient, affordable, and compact mechanisms.
