• ITMO Teaches Conflict Management to School Principals in St. Petersburg

  From difficult conversations with teachers and parents to divided teams and support in the workplace, school principals today have to face challenges that sometimes go beyond their experience. Thanks to ITMO’s hands-on course, 40 schools in the city’s downtown now have the tools to communicate and resolve conflicts more efficiently. More districts are expected to join the course in the future.

• ITMO, MIPT, and Skoltech Hold Joint School on Nanophotonics

  ITMO University hosted the ReNew (Resonant Nanophotonics Educational Workshop) school on July 7-11. The school focused on optical metasurfaces, neuromorphic computing, and integrated photonics devices. It was co-organized by ITMO’s Faculty of Physics, Skoltech, and Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology (MIPT). Participants presented their projects for QuantCad, the school’s industrial partner; the top projects will be put into practice at the company.

• Cube Laboratories for Bacteria and Cell Experiments To Appear in Russian Schools

  ITMO University and the research and manufacturing association Prolab will design and set up mobile cube-shaped laboratories in Russian schools where high school students will learn to operate equipment and conduct experiments. Their findings should prove helpful in discovering new molecules and materials for next-gen cryoprotectants and regenerative medicine, as well as in preventing oil and gas pollution. Such cubes are already operating in two schools in Yekaterinburg, with one currently under construction at the Gazprom School in St. Petersburg, and five more scheduled to open in Moscow and St. Petersburg by 2025.

• SCAMT Workshop Week: Implement Your Project and Enroll Into Master’s at ITMO Without Exams

  SCAMT Workshop Week is a research school, where Russian and international students can develop their projects and earn a chance to enroll into the university’s Master’s programs without exams. During the week, the participants work on their ideas and attend lectures from ITMO experts and guest speakers. • ITMO’s Advanced Engineering School Named Best in Russia

  Recently, the universities participating in the advanced engineering schools initiative have presented the results of the first year of their work to the Minister of Science and Higher Education Valery Falkov. ITMO’s Advanced Engineering School came first among all other participants and will receive over 514 million rubles in grant support.

• ITMO Team Successfully Presents Proposal for Advanced Engineering School

  Representatives of ITMO University unveiled the university’s proposal for an advanced engineering school to a committee of the Russian Ministry of Science and Higher Education. The establishment of such cutting-edge schools is the goal of an initiative launched by the Russian government with the aim of producing highly skilled specialists for the high-tech sector. Within this program, Russian universities, in partnership with leading companies, are expected to establish 30 engineering schools by 2030.
