1,000+ Participants From 37 Countries: ITMO Hosts Its First International School in AI and Gamedev
Disruptive Unicorn Lab (DU Lab), an international online summer school by ITMO University, drew over 1,100 students from Asia, Africa, Latin America, Europe, and the CIS countries. Within two weeks, participants generated ideas for technological startups, studied the fundamentals of gamedev and business logic, learned how to apply AI for products, prepared their applications for international accelerators, and looked into the work of international startup ecosystems. Among the school’s mentors were experts from China, Thailand, the Philippines, Brazil, Peru, Argentina, and other countries.

Math for Business & Life: St. Petersburg Hosts Its First Large Mathematical Workshop
Aimed to create a nationwide network of mathematical centers, the Large Mathematical Workshop brings together school and university students, mathematics teachers, and experts from all over Russia. This year, the project took place in St. Petersburg – at ITMO University – for the first time and attracted over 50 people from ten Russian cities. Participants worked on cases inspired by real-world research and business tasks.

Chemistry, Robots, and Cybersecurity: Highlights of AI Summer School by AIRI and ITMO’s AES

ITMO Hosts First-Ever METANANO Summer School in China
The METANANO Summer School on Nanophotonics and Advanced Materials recently wrapped up in Qingdao, China. A hundred researchers from Russia, China, Israel, Australia, Switzerland, and other countries spent three days discussing laser technologies for perovskite nanocoatings, multifunctional materials for thermal regulation, and other topics. Future of MRI: ITMO’s Magnetic Resonance Imaging Summer School Attracts 70+ Students, Engineers, Medical Scientists
In late June, ITMO University’s Faculty of Physics hosted a school in magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). Over the course of six days, leading specialists from the university and other scientific institutions educated the participants on the fundamentals of MRI, spoke on the latest advances in the field – including the cutting-edge devices developed by the Faculty of Physics – and hosted workshops on the methods of production and processing of magnetic resonance images. The school was organized jointly with the Almazov National Medical Research Center; its staff conducted a tour of the clinic and showed the MRI systems in action.
