    On May 20, ITMO once again challenged stereotypes about education one more time, when it welcomed edtech experts, entrepreneurs, and lecturers at the Open Education conference to discuss the future of universities.   • EduStars Winner Andrey Vasilyev on Teaching History to Programmers

    Another ITMO Edu Awards will take place this year at ITMO. Last year, dozens of lecturers from ITMO University who work on their own educational projects and come up with new approaches to teaching became its laureates. Andrey Vasilyev, the winner in the ITMO.EduStars category, teaches history and implements projects at the intersection of humanities and technical sciences. We asked him why STEM students like history, how to find a common ground with them, and where in Russia you can find Ancient Greece.

  • Anton Syutkin On Teaching Philosophy at a Technical University

    In this series, we talk about laureates of ITMO Edu Awards. In 2021, Anton Syutkin, an employee at ITMO’s Institute of International Development and Partnership, became one of the winners of the ITMO.EduStars track. He has been holding seminars in philosophy at ITMO University for five years. We asked him how hard it is to be a lecturer and researcher at the same time, what it’s like to teach philosophy at ITMO, and how this course can be improved.
