    Alexey Schekoldin illustrates the concept of lifelong learning by example: his Bachelor’s degree was in electrical engineering, his Master’s – in management, and his PhD – in technical systems management. Now, he is developing Sferum, a service by VK, constantly learning new things, and has recently won the national competition Leaders of Russia, earning a million-ruble prize.   • ITMO University’s Tatyana Ivanova Receives City’s Best Graduate Award

    The 20th annual celebration of the best graduates of St. Petersburg took place at the Peter and Paul Fortress on June 29. This year, ITMO University was represented by Tatyana Ivanova from the School of Physics and Engineering. She and other talented graduates were awarded certificates of appreciation from the Governor of St. Petersburg and bronze sphinx statuettes – a symbol of wisdom, intelligence, and perseverance.

  • ITMO Graduate Vladislav Tankov on the Importance of Life-Long Learning

    Vladislav Tankov decided to pursue his Master’s degree at ITMO University when he was already a quite successful specialist at JetBrains. At one of the hackathons, which was part of ITMO and JetBrains’ joint program on software engineering, he developed a plug-in for checking errors in texts within the IntelliJ IDEA environment. After graduation, Vladislav headed a development team at JetBrains for the full-fledged Grazie platform that had grown out of the plug-in.
