• ITMO Tops Ranking of St. Petersburg Universities Training Digital Economy Specialists

  In the recent ranking of digital economy universities, ITMO became the leader in St. Petersburg based on the quality of training provided to IT specialists. ITMO has also landed in the top 10 among the evaluated universities of Moscow and St. Petersburg. In total, the ranking featured 304 higher education institutions.

• Best in St. Petersburg: ITMO Tops Admissions Quality Ranking

  According to a recent study of the quality of enrollment at universities, ITMO was named the best in St. Petersburg and among the top five universities in Russia for tuition-free and fee-based Bachelor’s admissions – from among the total of 803 Russian universities evaluated.

• ITMO University Expands Its Presence in THE University Impact Rankings

  The ranking agency Times Higher Education has published its annual Impact Rankings. This ranking launched in 2019 aims to measure the impact that universities all over the world have on the social and economical development of their home countries through the prism of the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals. ITMO University applied for 10 out of 17 goal-based categories and was included in the rankings for all of them. For example, it entered the top 100 in the Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure category by placing 76th.

• How Course Assessment Influences the Quality of Education

  There are many tools for getting feedback from students, professors, graduates and other participants of the educational process. One of them is assessment. ITMO University conducts more and more surveys, the most highly anticipated are the ones on the quality of teaching in specific subjects. They began with assessment of the core set of disciplines. Two years of collecting feedback on these modules allowed us to understand what should be changed in order to make them better. In this article, the Center for Educational Management and Quality Assurance explains how students’ opinions influence the quality of education.
