The Quality Education ranking evaluates the following parameters: research on early-years and lifelong education, the proportion of graduates with teaching qualifications and first-generation students, and lifelong learning measures. In the Affordable and Clean Energy category, the ranking takes into consideration a university’s research on clean energy, measures taken towards affordable and clean energy, as well as energy use and energy and the community criteria. The parameters evaluated in the Responsible Consumption and Production category are: research on responsible consumption and production, operational measures, proportion of recycled waste, and publication of sustainability reports.

ITMO University was evaluated based on the above-mentioned goals and ranked 401-600, thus entering the top 600 of the global ranking, which included a total of 1,406 universities. In order to enter the global ranking, a university must contribute to at least four goals, including Partnerships for the Goals, which is deemed the most important one by the authors of the ranking.
