“Formula for Science PR 3.0”: SciComm for the Modern Society
How does scientific knowledge manage to survive in a distrustful society? What should science journalists do in the post-truth era? How is science communicated in Germany, Italy and Russia? Can science and business finally be friends? The “Formula for Science PR 3.0”, a newly assembled collection of practices and expert opinions in the field of Science Communication, answers all these questions and more. The “Communication Lab” project of the Russian Venture Company (RVC) publishes the only handbook on Science Communication in Russia. Its third edition was developed by ITMO University’s Center for Science Communication: more than 20 experts working in science popularization in Russia and abroad were invited to take part.

RVC Experts: Why Entrepreneurial Education Matters
ITMO University has launched a training program for university professors teaching the course “Innovation Economy and Technological Entrepreneurship” developed by the Russian Venture Company (RVC), ITMO University and Moscow State University. Throughout the week, representatives from 52 Russian universities will master teaching methods, specifics of education in innovation economy, basics of for-profit R&D, technology transfer and licensing, creation of technological startups, as well as develop their own strategies for commercialization of given R&D results.

ITMO University — Russia’s Second Best in Innovative Activities
ITMO University was placed second in the rankings by Russian Venture Company (RVC) that monitors the efficiency of innovative activities. Amongst other leaders were National Research Nuclear University MEPhI (placed 1st) and the Tomsk State University (3rd place). All in all, the specialists from RVC studied 40 universities — those that participate in the National Research Universities program, Program 5−100 and programs for federal universities.
