  • ITMO University and Bosch Launch Research Project in Active Matter Physics

    ITMO University and Bosch corporation have signed an agreement on conducting research in the field of active matter physics, a field hitherto not studied in Russia. Within the joint project, researchers are working with clusters of macro- and microparticles that can migrate and regroup into new structures. In the future, this project will result in new technologies for the energy  industry, manufacturing, and healthcare.

  • Taiwan, an El Dorado for Startups? VISmart Company Says Yes

    Anton Kulikov, ITMO University graduate and staff member of ITMO’s Technopark resident company VISmart, has just recently returned from Taiwan. There, he took part in the Asia-Pacific Youth Forum on Digital Innovation and Entrepreneurship. Only three participants from Russia were granted such an opportunity by the Ministry of Education of Taiwan, and ITMO University’s Center for Asian Cooperation helped them make this trip a reality.   • Computer Simulation to Make Cities Cleaner

    Egor Smirnov, a graduate student at ITMO, who is currently working at ITMO’s Institute of Design & Urban Studies has come up with an algorithm for planning path networks using dynamic behavioral modeling. The project will soon be presented at the ICCS Conference in China. Egor Smirnov told ITMO.NEWS about why pedestrian networks planning is important and what ordinary people can do to solve this problem.


  • ITMO and Finland's XAMK University Strengthen Relationship

    Head of School of Translational Information Technologies and of ITMO University’s eScience Research Institute Alexander Boukhanovsky and the Rector of South-Eastern Finland University of Applied Sciences (XAMK) Heikki Saastamoinen have signed a Memorandum of Understanding. The first step of this new partnership will be the staging of an International Young Scientists Conference. This year the event that will gather the leading experts on high-performance computing and simulation will take place at XAMK’s campus in the town of Kotka.
