Coworking spaces
Half-empty in summer, ITMO coworking spaces truly come to life with the start of studies, as the students’ productive energy fills the air. The options are endless: you can book a conference room to concentrate on your project in silence, sit with your friends in comfy chairs in the open space, or even chill in a hammock. Out of all the locations, the largest coworking spaces on Lomonosova and Kronverksy campus are open 24/7, so you're not limited in time (although we kindly insist on maintaining a healthy study-life balance).

Student clubs
Being a student doesn’t mean you have to abandon your hobbies for the sake of your studies. On the contrary, it’s high time to get cooler by acquiring new skills in your area of interest! For that, ITMO has over 200 student clubs for every interest: from esports to Asian culture. There's usually a club presentation event in the first weeks of September, but you can easily join them later. If you’re more comfortable starting off in a fully English-speaking environment, don’t miss out on ITMO Speaking Club and events organized by ITMO Buddy System.
Cafeteria
We understand that intensive studies won’t do much good for your inner chef. That’s why there are great freshly renovated cafeterias at ITMO campuses that always welcome you with hearty meals, from soups and salads to sushi and pizza! It's an affordable and reliable safe option, tested by generations of students, and a great place for making new acquaintances (just try starting a conversation in the queue).

Short trips to Yagodnoe
Yagodnoe didn’t hibernate in summer: ITMO's sports and leisure camp hosted several camps for sports, psychology, and language enthusiasts. In autumn, it goes back to treating students with a variety of activities that won’t interfere with studies: sports camps, faculty events,or holiday celebrations. Surrounded by centuries-old pines on the shore of a peaceful lake and guided by experienced organizers, you’ll have a unique opportunity to relax, have fun, and mingle with your fellow students.
Bike Ride with the Rector
Twice a year, ITMO students and staff get together to partake in one of the oldest and most beloved of the university’s traditions and join our Rector Vladimir Vasilyev for a bike ride. For about an hour, at a nice and slow pace, the pack crosses Krestovsky Island to reach Lakhta Center. This event is a great chance to meet the university’s key figures in an informal setting and finally blow some dust off your bike, scooter, rollerblades… or even unicycle!

Sports for everyone
If you believe that you and physical activities aren’t meant for each other, think twice. At ITMO, even a couch potato could find an activity to their heart and gain points for the PE exam with pleasure. All thanks to the fact you can practice any sport with KronBars student sports club, from fitness to chess. And if you already are a pro at something, you can freely improve your skills at advanced-level clubs.
Education opportunities
Hackathons, conferences, career days – opportunities abound as summer holidays come to an end. You can take advantage of the academic year to network, assemble a dream team, or find a part-time job. If you prefer to think on a global scale, there’s the biannual competition for semester exchange for a chance to study abroad. Additionally, you can apply for short-term events like online and offline schools, seminars, and research internships abroad and in Russia, and get up to 70% of your expenses reimbursed.
