Ideal for a slow weekend, Market by the Sea will present a marvelous array of all things arts and crafts, as well as foods and drinks for the in-betweens. This weekend, you are to see – and browse through – a mixed bag of artisan-made ceramics, home decor and plants, fashion apparel and accessories, and much more! While at Sevkabel Port, you might also want to rally your friends or take a one-on-one with a stranger for a game of badminton – a little birdie told us that it is free (you just need to follow the organizers on social media).
Open-air theater festival

For three days, Yelagin Island will turn into a stage with a fantastic lineup of theater performances, interactive shows, and music concerts, which will take place outdoors amidst the park’s summery landscapes. From timeless fairy tales to drum shows and promenades with dinosaurs, the festival offers a fun-packed entertainment program with more than 30 performances, including 14 premieres.

This exhibition reveals an electric range of photographs shot by Soviet artists between the 1970s and 1980s. With 150 items from photographers all over the country, the display is reminiscent of the times when artists blurred boundaries between different art forms to investigate themselves, thus expanding the genre and paving the way for new visions.

If not afraid of the dark (and large bunny-like things), head to Rodina Cinema this weekend to see the quirk and mysterious story of Donnie Darko, a troubled teen who suffers from visions and believes the world is about to end, unleash on a big screen.
This is also the Navy Day weekend in Russia, so don’t be stunned by the abundance of city festivities and drawn bridges at midday on Sunday. The event’s program includes a naval and aircraft parade, as well as a firework display, among many other things.
