ITMO Family Day 2025

ITMO Family Day, the university’s epic celebration for its graduates, staff, and friends, is horn-blowing its way into St. Petersburg, now in a new location. The program is jam-packed with events and activities for all ages, from shred-therapy sessions to PowerPoint parties, and, of course, the performance of our headliner, The Hatters, to top off the night.

Where does dueling take its roots? And what was the traditional gear like? The newly-opened display at the Hermitage Museum reflects on the rise and decline of dueling, its attributes, traditions and rules, as well as the duels that left a mark on history and common reasons for dueling – from ancient times to the mid-20th century.

New Holland’s open-air cinema is back for another season – and this Tuesday, we’re watching Wes Anderson’s Moonrise Kingdom (2012) on the big screen, a coming-of-age story about two kids who decide to run away together and start a new life off the coast of New England.

Russian Decorative Trays

Travel through five centuries of Russian applied art at the Stroganov Palace. On view are over 150 decorative trays created by Russian masters between the 17th and 21st centuries. The display explores the evolution of the artform, as well as the diversity of materials and techniques used throughout its history.
