This Saturday, the 300th Anniversary Park will host one of the summer’s most magical and memorable events: the Kite Festival. Dozens of kites will paint the sky over the beach and the Gulf of Finland, turning it into a veritable parade of colors and shapes and sizes. The event will also feature workshops on kite-making and kiteboarding lessons. The festival will last from 12pm till 6pm, and entrance is free – just don’t forget to bring a kite.
Once Upon a Time In Hollywood screening

If you find that watching movies in a regular theater for a regular amount of money alongside regular people doesn’t quite cut the mustard, don’t lose heart: there is always a less plebeian solution out there, lurking. Come form your own expert take on Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, Quentin Tarantino’s extravagant love letter to Hollywood in all of its stereotypic glory, in style on the Leningrad Center creative show-space’s big screen, with an extra serving of snootiness on the side. The screenings, happening on September 1, 2, and 8 (tickets), will be in English with Russian subtitles.

For whom does the bell toll? We know the answer: for school and university students, who, for better or for worse, are to start or resume their studies on September 1, known in Russia as the Day of Knowledge (but unofficially, is more like a Red Wedding kind of thing, in terms of the overall vibe). St. Petersburg’s Summer Garden has decided to sweeten that pill, throwing a special event on August 31 and September 1 which will bring together many of the city’s museums.
The program includes a wide range of workshops, interactive activities, contests, games and prize draws, revolving around the history of St. Petersburg, as well as art, literature, science and technology – basically, everyone will find their opportunity to win some swag and learn some swag, too. There will also be tours of the venue’s Red Garden starting at 1pm and 3pm, as well as musical and theatrical performances on stage.
