Thanks to ITMO University’s subscription, both students and employees can now read e-books and listen to audiobooks via LitRes. They can access borrowed books on the project’s website or via the LitRes app.
For students and staff at ITMO University
ITMO students and staff are now able to join the LitRes Library project remotely. There is no need to spend your money on LitRes anymore – all you need to do is to login to the ITMO Library website and choose a book. After this, you’ll be granted access to it for two weeks.
The users will be able to access all the materials remotely and read them anywhere and anytime via a browser or an app for Android, iOS, or Windows. They will be able to enjoy all the advantages of LitRes: cross-platform access, reading and listening offline via the app, as well as a customizable interface: that allows you to choose a font and background, add bookmarks, and highlight quotes.
How to register
In order to register, you need to go to the ITMO Library website (English version coming soon), click on LitRes library, and fill out a form for students and staff of the university. After this, you’ll be able to borrow any book you’d like. It will be returned automatically in two weeks.
“Once a student or a lecturer from ITMO University joins LitRes Library through our website, they can borrow a book that isn’t a part of the collection. In this case, ITMO Library will purchase it and then all ITMO students and staff will be able to read it, too,” comments Maria Topunova, deputy head of ITMO library.
New ITMO Library
On December 1, the upgraded ITMO Library with an open collection opened at the Lomonosova St. 9 campus. There you can read, work on a computer in silence, and borrow books.
You can browse all digital resources, including scientific publications, textbooks, and other documents that ITMO University has access to via a search bar on the library’s website. There you can also find a lot of useful information on how to gain remote access to ITMO University’s digital resources, borrow and return books, order them from other libraries, book a coworking space, and read the latest news.
