  • Neuroculture Lab Supported by ITMO Opens in St. Petersburg

    The lab is based at the Konstantine Grot boarding school for the visually impaired. At the lab’s presentation, showcased was the Neurotafl device that is meant to help develop creativity and abstract thinking in children with visual impairments.

    On December 18, students of ITMO’s Faculty of Technological Management and Innovations defended projects developed by researchers from the School of Biotechnology and Cryogenic Systems. The event was the final part of ITMO’s new course in Management of Competitive Capacities of Enterprises.

  • ITMO PhD Student Develops Unique MRI Device and Wins All-Russian Contest

    The contest of research projects by young scientists took place as part of the Science of the Future – Science of the Youth forum organized by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation. Evgeny Koreshin, a PhD student at ITMO’s Department of Physics and Engineering, took first place in the Medicine and Pharmacology category.

  • ITMO Researchers Teach Robots to Run Chemical Experiments

    ITMO University experts are creating technological assistants for chemical laboratories that will be able to take over all routine work with no human involvement needed. Right now, the first prototypes are already performing the simplest manipulations. In the future, robotic chemists will be able to run their own research for accumulating large amounts of data and performing primary analysis.

    This time, ITMO was ranked 36th – 10 positions higher than last year. Since the ranking’s introduction in 2014, ITMO has managed to get up by 64 positions.

  • ITMO University in 2020: A Year in Review

    This year was a year like no other. We started it ready to celebrate ITMO’s 120th anniversary, but before we knew it, our entire digital infrastructure was put to the test. Though it was not an experience anyone could be prepared for, our staff and students handled it like champs. Truly, it was a jubilee year to remember.
