• ITMO.EduTeam: Your Chance to Launch a Master’s Program at ITMO

Before April 30, you can file an application for the development of a Master’s program for the 2023-24 academic year at ITMO University. Authors of the best ideas will receive up to 1.5 million rubles for the development of their programs, and those of them who don't work at ITMO will have a chance to join the university’s team. The FaKappa team made up of students of ITMO's Faculty of Secure Information Technologies took second place, won the special nomination, and received prizes from Sberbank.

• ITMO Student Daria Fedorova On Winning Pyaterochka’s Student Ideas Contest

  Daria Fedorova, a Bachelor’s student at ITMO’s Faculty of Technological Management and Innovations, was named one of the winners of the NEXT5 contest organized by Pyaterochka retail company. Together with her friend, Daria suggested a modification to the company’s corporate application that would allow potential employees to experience a sneak preview of their job in a virtual simulator, while current retail and storage facility workers would accumulate points to be counted towards their promotion or a salary raise. We reached out to Daria to ask her why she decided to apply, how long it took her to develop the concept, and why she thinks it useful to take part in such events.

• ITMO Holds First Stage of Its Physics Contest for School Students

  The  first online round of ITMO’s physics contest for school students will take place on April 14-21. There, students in grade 8-11 will get to solve problems that were inspired by contemporary research practices. Winners of the first stage will not only receive prizes, but will also get the chance to visit ITMO’s research laboratories and talk to the university’s leading scientists.

  Daniil Tsimerman, a first-year student at the Faculty of Software Engineering and Computer Systems, was ranked first in the Junior category at AIJ Contest. The online competition was organized by Sberbank as part of the AI Journey conference.
