Future of NTI Centers Discussed at NTI Ecosystem Forum in Sochi
On December 6-7, the Russian city of Sochi hosted the forum ‘Ecosystem of the NTI: Strategy of the Future’. Over 300 representatives of the NTI (National Technology Initiative) community, including those from ITMO University, gathered to discuss long-term plans and new projects, as well as to recap on this year’s developments and recognize the achievements of the community members. Russia’s scientific and technological development in the coming years was the main topic of the forum.

OPORA RUSSIA: Championing Technological Entrepreneurship
Universities and development institutions have discussed the latest trends in technological entrepreneurship at the ‘Small Business as a National Project’ forum which took place in Moscow last week. The forum is an annual entrepreneurial gathering organized by ‘OPORA RUSSIA’, a national platform for an effective dialogue between the business community, federal and regional authorities, supervisory boards, and experts. Participants discussed the pressing issues of how to facilitate the development of business skills in school and university students, what knowledge graduates are lacking in from the viewpoint of real economy, and how to upscale successful practices on conducting entrepreneurial education.

ITMO University and Kirovsky Zavod to Cooperate on Liquefied Natural Gas Technologies
On October 4, as part of the 8th St. Petersburg International Gas Forum, ITMO University and the Kirovsky Zavod Gas Technologies LLC have signed an agreement on cooperation in the field of education and scientific-technological activities. CEO Vladimir Korobeynikov signed the agreement on behalf of Kirovsky Zavod, while ITMO University was represented by Igor Baranov, head of the School of Biotechnology and Cryogenic Systems.

IV International Spatial Development Forum: What You Need to Know about Building a Campus
The fourth international spatial development forum was recently held in St. Petersburg at the “Manege” Central Exhibition Hall. The theme of this year’s forum was “iCities: New Codes - New Rules”. The forum’s organizers went from an impersonal discussion of buildings, technology and development programs to the essence of a human-oriented city, based on the principles of citizen engagement and sustainable development, and also the use of smart technologies. The future of Russia’s innovative campuses was also discussed at the forum.
