• ITMO Opens Admissions Office Branch at Sevkabel Port

  You can now learn more about ITMO’s educational programs and submit your application in ways other than online or at the Lomonosova St. 9 campus. A new ITMO pop-up office has opened its doors to visitors at one of St. Petersburg’s top public spaces – Sevkabel Port. The new space includes interactive areas where visitors can learn about science and the world, meet dancing robots, and have a look at pieces from the university’s Museum of Optics.

  Quacquarelli Symonds (QS), a British company specializing in the analysis of the global higher education market, has unveiled its latest edition of the QS World University Rankings. Like last year, ITMO University is named among the world’s top 400 universities.

• RUSNANO Chairman Sergey Kulikov Heads ITMO’s Supervisory Council

  The new line-up of the council also includes Alexander Galitsky, an international tech entrepreneur, Andrey Styskin, CEO of Yandex Technologies, Yelena Isinbayeva, a two-time Olympic champion, and other high-profile representatives of the industry and government. The first session of the new council was dedicated to a general discussion of the university’s development strategy until 2030.

• Continuing Professional Education: Big Data for Managers – Law and Marketing for Developers

  ITMO’s National Center for Cognitive Research has launched a slate of continuing professional education programs. These courses will help economists, managers and lawyers learn more about big data, machine learning, and artificial intelligence. IT specialists, in turn, will have the chance to study marketing, law, or public relations.

  On April 13, Vladimir Vasilyev, the Rector of ITMO University, and Mikhail Vedernikov, the Governor of Pskov Oblast, signed a cooperation agreement between the university and the region’s administration.
