ITMO and Sberbank Take Partnership to Next Level With New Staff Training Center
The strategic partnership between ITMO University and Sberbank in the field of robotics begins a new chapter: since 2019, the university and the banking company have offered the joint Master’s program Robotics and Artificial Intelligence; now, the program’s graduates will take leading roles as employees of the bank’s Robotics Laboratory. Here, they will work on cutting-edge R&D. The company is conducting projects on the international scientific frontier – more precisely, the field of embodied intelligence – with plans to develop the national high-tech market of service robotics.

ITMO Scientists Suggest New Method to Make More Adaptive and Autonomous Robots
Scientists from ITMO have come up with a three-step algorithm for the development of manipulators and walking or wearable robots. Compared to the usual methods, the new approach results in lighter, more efficient, affordable, and compact mechanisms. Walking robots that can move without having a full map of their surroundings are just one example of the designs produced by the new method. Another is the jumping robot made by the researchers to demonstrate their new algorithm. Read on to discover more.

Complete Master’s and PhD in Four Years With ITMO’s New Educational Track
Starting this year, prospective Master’s students can join a Master’s and PhD combined track, which allows students to pre-select their supervisors, enroll into PhD programs exam-free, and shorten their time of study at the university from six to four years by taking higher-degree courses in advance.
