  • I Am a Professional: Tips from Former Winners of Robotics Track

    I Am a Professional is a national competition for students of all fields – from humanities to engineering. Winners receive diplomas, as well as advantages when enrolling into Master’s and PhD programs, monetary prizes, and internship opportunities at major Russian companies. This year, ITMO is organizing three core tracks in partnership with Sberbank: Robotics, Programming & IT, and Information & Cyber Security, as well as a corporate track titled Technological Entrepreneurship in collaboration with VEEROUTE.   • ITMO Opens Admissions Office Branch at Sevkabel Port

    You can now learn more about ITMO’s educational programs and submit your application in ways other than online or at the Lomonosova St. 9 campus. A new ITMO pop-up office has opened its doors to visitors at one of St. Petersburg’s top public spaces – Sevkabel Port. The new space includes interactive areas where visitors can learn about science and the world, meet dancing robots, and have a look at pieces from the university’s Museum of Optics.

  • ITMO University Rates Among Russia’s Top 5 in Quality of Tuition-Free Admissions

    The Higher School of Economics and Yandex, with the support of the Russian Ministry of Science and Higher Education, have unveiled the results of a review of the quality of admissions to Bachelor’s and Specialist’s degree programs among Russian universities. ITMO University was rated among the top five universities in regards to the quality of admission to tuition-free positions. The average Unified State Exam (USE) score among those enrolled tuition-free at ITMO has increased since last year and now equals 93.1 points.

In such conditions, optical and quantum communications solve a variety of tasks. Photonics is a science and technology field at the intersection of optical physics, engineering and materials science.   • Engineer and Scientist in One: How ITMO Trains Developers of New MRI Systems

    The MRI technology has long established itself as an indispensable tool for medical diagnostics. However, today’s scientists continue to work on its development and the creation of new, improved systems. One of the most important aspects in this direction is the work with ultra-high-field tomographs, which can significantly increase the accuracy of medical research. Developers of the new MRI devices are trained at ITMO University’s Master’s program “Radiofrequency Systems and Devices”, which gives its students the option of choosing to study a specialized MRI track. While still in their Master’s studies, they can engage in scientific research, as well as participate in internships abroad as part of an international research group.
