  ITMO University graduate Sergey Khitrov launched his first business when he was a first-year Bachelor’s student and earned his first million rubles at the age of 19. • Business Games, or How to Pass Exams Without Taking Exams and Get a Job Without an Interview

• Entrepreneurial Culture: A Look Into the New General Course at ITMO

• OPORA RUSSIA: Championing Technological Entrepreneurship

  Universities and development institutions have discussed the latest trends in technological entrepreneurship at the ‘Small Business as a National Project’ forum which took place in Moscow last week. The forum is an annual entrepreneurial gathering organized by ‘OPORA RUSSIA’, a national platform for an effective dialogue between the business community, federal and regional authorities, supervisory boards, and experts. • Start Your Business and Unleash Your Creativity: New Online Course by ITMO University

  Olga Tikhomirova, an associate professor at ITMO’s Faculty of Technological Management and Innovations, has developed an online course “Entrepreneurship in Creative Industries” (in Russian) aimed at helping creative industry representatives to launch their own business and encourage entrepreneurs to use creative solutions in their work. • Novgorod State University Hosts ITMO.REGIONS Innovation Weekend

  Last weekend, Novgorod State University hosted an intensive workshop on strategy and project management, which was given by ITMO University experts as part of the interregional network program of the ITMO.REGIONS startup school. The event was supported by the University of the National Technology Initiative (NTI) 2035. • ‘New Wallet’ Founder Mikhail Leontiev: ‘My Ultimate Goal is to Make People Associate Russia with Business’

  Five years ago, ITMO graduates brothers Mikhail and Alexey Leontiev launched their business in manufacturing wallets from Tyvek, an innovative material that combines the properties of paper, plastic film, and textile, thanks to which items made from Tyvek are tear-proof, don’t get wet and weigh only tens of grams. Leontiev brothers started working on this concept when they were studying at ITMO University’s Faculty of Physics and Engineering. Nowadays, their wallets are sold in 150 shops nationwide and the company’s accomplishments include successful collaborations with popular streetwear brands, trendy calligraphy artist Pokras Lampas, Louna music group, and the founders’ alma mater ITMO University. ITMO.NEWS met with Mikhail Leontiev to talk about creating a unique brand, starting your own company, and going all the way from engineer to businessman.
