ITMO Joins Interuniversity Consortium for Siberian Ring Photon Source
ITMO University has signed an agreement to join the interuniversity consortium for interaction between the Siberian Ring Photon Source Collective Use Center and universities. As part of the arrangement, the university will work with its partners to conduct educational and research projects and train future specialists for the center.

First Stone Laid at ITMO Highpark Construction Site
On August 30, Valery Falkov, the Minister of Science and Higher Education, Alexander Beglov, the Governor of St. Petersburg, and Vladimir Vasilyev, the Rector of ITMO University, laid the first stone to mark the start of the construction of ITMO Highpark. During the ceremony, a robot manipulator placed an AI-generated message from students, researchers, and lecturers into the grounds of the future world-class research, education, and innovation center.

ITMO Named Best Within Priority 2030 Program
Last year marked the launch of Priority 2030, a national program aimed at comprehensive development of the Russian higher education system. According to a recent performance review conducted by the Russian Ministry of Science and Higher Education, ITMO has demonstrated the highest results among the participants of the program’s research leadership track. This achievement secured the university with an additional 820 million rubles in funding to be received alongside the core part of the grant in 2023.

ITMO University Returns to On-Site Learning Starting on February 8
The Russian Ministry of Science and Higher Education has ordered its subordinate institutions of higher education to return to the conventional learning format starting on February 8. The corresponding decree was signed by Minister Valery Falkov. ITMO University will now begin the transition to offline (on-site) learning.
