On a warm spring day, ITMO students and staff came together for the traditional bike ride with the rector. Over 50 participants cycled the nine-kilometer route around Primorsky Victory Park, Yakhtenny Bridge, and Park of the 300th Anniversary of St. Petersburg. Join us for a recap of the event.

Yesterday marked the eighth time when ITMO’s students, staff and friends meet with Rector Vladimir Vasilyev for a picturesque bike ride in St. Petersburg’s seaside district. This time, just like last year, the route started at the entrance to Primorsky Victory Park, went through the park, St. Petersburg Arena Stadium, Yakhtenny Bridge and ended at the 300th Anniversary Park. Yesterday marked the seventh time when students, staff and friends of ITMO University meet with Rector Vladimir Vasilyev for a picturesque bike ride in St. Petersburg’s seaside district. This year, the baton was picked up in Vladivostok, where the international conference METANANO-2017 is currently underway. After midnight in Moscow time (7:30 AM in Vladivostok), 40 participants of the conference, including Russian and international professors, scientists and students, started the final day of the conference with an invigorating bike ride. Ivan Belonogov, Vladimir Smykalov and Ilya Zban, who became world champions last Wednesday, and their coach, Andrey Stankevich, brought home the World Champion Cup in collegiate programming. This is the university’s seventh victory. No other university in the world has managed to beat ITMO University’s world record for number of ACM ICPC Champion titles.
