  • ITMO Students Win Numerous Prizes at National Contest Your Turn

    Eight ITMO University students have emerged victorious during the third season of the national student contest Your Turn. Three of the winners, taking part in the contest’s project competition, received grants of 1 million rubles to develop their projects further. Another three students, who accumulated the most points through research surveys, were presented with certificates for a trip across Russia. Two more students were chosen as part of the contest’s top 100 ambassadors.

  • ITMO Team Takes Gold at ICPC Northern Eurasia Finals 2023

    The Northern Eurasia Finals of ICPC, the semifinals of the world’s largest collegiate programming contest, concluded on December 13. The team from ITMO University took the third place (equivalent to a gold medal as per ICPC rules) and will now represent their region in the international finals, set to take place in September 2024 in Astana (Kazakhstan).

  • Your Turn: ITMO Students Win National Project Contest

    Four students of ITMO University have achieved victory in the second season of the Russian national contest Your Turn. During the event, they presented projects that aim to further improve the Russian educational system. The winners will each receive 1 million rubles or an opportunity to go on a tour of the country.

  • ITMO Team Wins Gold at ICPC Northern Eurasia Finals

    Today, December 7, marked the finals of the Northern Eurasia leg of ICPC – the international collegiate programming contest. Team pengzoo from ITMO University took fourth place in the competition, scoring a gold medal alongside other winners. Now, they will represent their region in the 2022/2023 finals.

  • PI + Team: ITMO Announces Project Competition for Future Lab Founders

    ITMO University is launching an open call for research teams wishing to run their own laboratories at the university.   • ITMO Students to Run for Light Nights Competition

    The call for applications for the International Competition of Light Installations, Video Art, and Videomapping is now open. The expert board will select 20 winners who will create their art projects at an art residence and present them at the Light Nights Festival in Gatchina, Leningrad Oblast. One of the event’s partners is ITMO’s Creative Lighting Department. As in previous years, ITMO Master’s students will compete for the right to perform at the festival.

  • Medical Solutions, Exoskeletons, and New Foods: Latest Projects by ITMO Students

    A round of project defenses was recently held at ITMO University for the participants of a competition for practice-oriented research and R&D projects. All in all, 13 were presented at the event – all of the projects received financial support in 2020 and 2021, while those that are yet to reach completion will receive further assistance.

  • Contest-Winning ITMO Master’s Student on Making Science Popular

    We caught up with Dauddin Daudi, a recently-enrolled student of the Chemistry of Applied Materials Master’s program. Before coming to ITMO, he worked on a number of projects and was twice named a winner of the national contest My Country – My Russia. Speaking to ITMO.NEWS, he elaborated on the projects that brought him success and explained why he abandoned a career in the oil industry to study spiderwebs – and why science needs to be popularized not only among the public, but among scientists, too.
