    Starting on October 1, Russian universities started to defend their development strategies within the research leadership track of the Priority 2030 National Program. The authors of the most innovative ideas will receive a special grant of up to 1 billion rubles, which can be used to facilitate the implementation of advanced research and the creation of high-tech products and technologies, as well as strengthen the university’s human capacity in research and development.

    The selection process for the Priority 2030 national program came to end on September 26. Based on the results of the selection, ITMO University was named among the top Russian universities that will receive a grant of 100 million rubles.   • RUSNANO Chairman Sergey Kulikov Heads ITMO’s Supervisory Council

    The new line-up of the council also includes Alexander Galitsky, an international tech entrepreneur, Andrey Styskin, CEO of Yandex Technologies, Yelena Isinbayeva, a two-time Olympic champion, and other high-profile representatives of the industry and government.   • St. Petersburg Governor Poltavchenko Elected as ITMO Highpark Chairman of Board

    The decision was made during the first session of ITMO Highpark’s Board of Directors. Highpark is a new scientific, educational and innovative center in the south of St. Petersburg. The meeting itself was held on December 20 at ITMO University. Also present at the session was Nikolay Nikiforov, the Russian Minister of Communications and Mass Media. Mr. Nikiforov noted that this project will take the form of a complete ecosystem aimed at supporting research, innovative projects and the quality of life for young specialists.
