• How ITMO Students Created Profitable Businesses in 2 Months

  Within a university competition, ITMO students had two months to devise strategies for using digital transformation to benefit the real estate market. Out of 57 proposals, the university’s lecturers chose the two most thorough business plans, which will receive assistance and become a part of Sberbank’s ecosystem.

  On December 10, projects submitted as part of the ITMO.FUTURE contest were presented at a final defense. A total of 22 projects made it to the final stage; their creators will receive monetary prizes for their contribution to the university’s development.

  Every student who has ever been on exchange knows how hard it can be to adapt to the new surroundings, get all your papers sorted, and adjust to the new timetable and academic process. It’s important to have someone you can ask for help at this time, a friendly face you can look for in a crowd of your new fellow students – and that is where buddies come in to save the day. At ITMO, these are found in Buddy System, a student club whose manager, Anna Gargalyk, I caught up with for this interview.

• ITMO University’s Digital Volunteers: Who They Are and How They Transform Education Processes

  Nine ITMO University students have completed a four-day training course at 20.35 University to become certified digital volunteers. During the intensive course, the students familiarized themselves with online communication services (Zoom and Discord), discovered how to organize online learning, monitor university and school students’ progress, and learned to implement gamification of study subjects using ClassDojo and Mozilla Hubs. ITMO.NEWS contacted the newly qualified digital volunteers to find out about possible applications for this knowledge and skills and the development of digital volunteering in the country.
