New City, New University: Applications Underway for DVIZH Academic Mobility Program 2024
Until December 20, second- to fourth-year Bachelor’s students from ITMO University, the Russian Foreign Trade Academy, the National Research Nuclear University MEPhI, the Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration, the Peoples’ Friendship University of Russia, and Tomsk State University can apply for the DVIZH academic mobility program and win a chance to spend a semester at one of Russia’s top universities. AI Barista: Digital Coffee Taste Predictor To Be Developed at ITMO
Scientists from ITMO’s Infochemistry Scientific Center are working on a digital barista, a smart system that will describe the taste of coffee grains without a human specialist. This project, developed with Siberian Federal University and business partners, is set to be used in vending coffee machines.

ITMO Signs Cooperation Agreements With Belarusian Universities
ITMO’s Technology Transfer Center has signed collaboration agreements with three Belarusian research institutions: the Belarusian State Academy of Communications, the Belarusian State University of Informatics and Radioelectronics (BSUIR), as well as BSUIR’s Technopark. The agreements concern the potential introduction of ITMO's technological solutions to the Belarusian market and the establishment of a network for exchanging knowledge and experience.

Gut Microbiota Can Predict Immunotherapy Response, ITMO Scientists Say
In their study of correlations between intestinal microbiota and melanoma treatment results, researchers from ITMO University and the Lopukhin Federal Research and Clinical Center of Physical-Chemical Medicine have come across functional biomarkers that can predict immunotherapy efficacy and beneficial bacteria that enhance immune responses in patients through stimulating the development of T-cells. The findings can be potentially used to develop a pre-treatment diagnostic test and issue recommendations for gut microbiome correction. The results of the study were published in mSystems.

Starting now, students from ITMO and MIREA – Russian Technological University are able to join a course developed in collaboration with the gaming platform VK Play.
