  • KronBars Named Best Russian Student Sports Club for the Fifth Year in a Row

    ITMO University’s student sports club KronBars won the Best Russian Student Sports Club competition, as well as took first place in the Best Marketing category. Dmitry Rusanov, general manager of the club, became the best student sports marketer for the second time, and Angelina Shulyakovskaya, the club’s digital manager, placed first in the Media Marketing category.     This year was a year like no other. We started it ready to celebrate ITMO’s 120th anniversary, but before we knew it, our entire digital infrastructure was put to the test. Though it was not an experience anyone could be prepared for, our staff and students handled it like champs. Truly, it was a jubilee year to remember.   • ITMO Students Can Now Exchange Esports Wins for P.E. Grades

    Many had expected to spend the quarantine playing video games, but online learning turned out to be just as challenging as regular studies. ITMO University has found the best way to have your cake and eat it, too: now, students can receive points to go towards their physical education grades by playing video games alongside their peers and taking part in online competitions.

  • ITMO University and Russian eSports Federation Launch Scholarships for Gamers

    ITMO University and the Russian eSports Federation have launched Russia’s first-ever scholarship for cyberathletes. To become a recipient, students need to score well on their Unified State Exam (USE), enroll in a tuition-free program and win the cyberathlete portfolio competition. Recipients of the scholarship will be given a monthly stipend of 10,000 rubles throughout their first semester; those who pass their first exam session with high marks will continue receiving the stipend in their second semester.

  • Zenit FC Fan-Club Re-Opens at ITMO University

    On March 15, the St. Petersburg Stadium, also known as Zenit Arena, hosted a Europa League game between Zenit St. Petersburg and RB Leipzig; ITMO University’s Zenit FC fan-club and KronBars sports club took part in the pre-game Fan Promenade. Zenit Arena will now host a regular ITMO University area, while the university’s students can win tickets to Zenit’s games and participate in fan events.

  • KronBars Tops List of Russia's Best Student Sports Clubs

    ITMO University’s student sports club KronBars has topped the ranking of Russian student sports clubs. Association of Student Sports Clubs of Russia (ASSC) published the ranking on its web-site. The ranking accounts for the clubs’ activities from September 2016 to August 2017. It includes 56 participants from 8 federal districts of Russia. In addition to that, this year’s ranking will be a part of the finalists’ qualification criteria in the contest "Best Student Sports Club of 2016-2017 Academic Year". The contest will be held in Kazan in late November.
