In total, the final list consisted of 20 universities from five Russian cities: Moscow, St. Petersburg, Yekaterinburg, Kazan, and Tomsk; they were included based on whose graduates the employers consider the most qualified and who they tend to hire. Moreover, the surveyed companies specified the universities they consider leading in particular fields: economics, engineering sciences, marketing and communications, natural sciences, creative industries, and humanities.
The ranking is based on a survey of companies from the Forbes list of Russia’s best employers: they represented various Russian regions and 43 economic industries.
Earlier, ITMO came 7th in Forbes’ 2025 ranking of the best Russian universities.
