Choosing your program: programs and subject areas

Bachelor’s studies. This year, applicants can choose from 26 Bachelor’s programs in six subject areas: information technologies, physics, life sciences, engineering, economics and innovations, and interdisciplinary studies. There are two new programs on this list: Digital Urban Studies and AI Engineering, the latter implemented in collaboration with social media platform VK. Among the university’s other industrial partners are Yandex, Nexign, BIOCAD, and Huawei, whose experts deliver lectures and workshops, offer internship opportunities to students, and organize scholarship competitions.

Master’s studies. A wider choice compared to last year awaits applicants to Master’s programs as well: in 2024, you can choose from a total of 80 programs. Some new names are Sustainable Development and Environmental Management, Team Lead in IT, and Cybersecurity. Overall, Master’s programs are offered in 13 subject areas, including programming, AI, ecology, biotechnologies, chemistry, robotics, and information security.

Many of the available programs are implemented in collaboration with industrial partners. For instance, Team Lead in IT is run in collaboration with Samolet Group, while Cybersecurity – with the IT security company Positive Technologies. Last year’s admissions campaign saw two particular favorites among applicants: Highload Systems (nearly 14 applicants per spot), implemented with Yandex, and Web Scale Systems (nearly 9 applicants per spot), implemented with VK.

This year, the university also offers more online programs – now, there are 9: 7 programs in design, chemistry, IT and more, as well as Applied Optics and Systems Analysis and Management.
