Victory Day concert

To celebrate the anniversary of Victory Day, Tavrichesky Garden hosts a special celebratory concert with ‘30s and ‘40s dance music performed by a military orchestra and reenactors dancing around in costumes of the era. Guests are also encouraged to come in ‘40s costumes to recreate the joyous atmosphere of May 9, 1945.

Victory Day exhibition

In honor of Victory Day, Lenrezerv, the biggest private museum dedicated to the Great Patriotic War, hosts a free exhibition of spaces, objects and individual stories of the WWII. Aiming for the full immersion into the wartime era, the display includes full-size replicas of bombed out houses, an actress’s flat circa the Siege of Leningrad, huge missiles, a collection of wartime cars and machinery, as well as authentic cultural objects.

Summer in the City festival

On May 10-12, come round to Primorsky Victory Park to participate in dancing and theater workshops, listen to poem readings, and watch movies at an open-air cinema theater, all in honor of the second leg of May holidays. The program also includes live music, street food, creative photo areas, and sports games.

Travel Festival

Music, freedom, and fun – this is how the organizers of the Travel Festival describe their initiative. Sounds good, doesn’t it? Come to the Sevkabel Port creative space to enjoy live music from the sunny beaches of Ecuador, remote Ireland’s cliffs, romantic France, and mysterious India, listen to lectures about travel lifehacks and the most extraordinary places on Earth, master the art of calligraphy, and try out various national cuisines.

Dimensions of Freedom exhibition

Featuring static and kinetic sculpture and art installations, Dimensions of Freedom is the result of a contest which encouraged locals artists to wrack their creative brains and come up with their artistic and sculptural interpretations of the concept of freedom. The exhibition is held as part of the Travel Festival.

Korushka Festival

Thousands of kilograms of smelt will be prepared for visitors at the Lenexpo Exhibition Complex on Vasilievsky Island. Guests can try this peculiar fish that has already become an unofficial symbol of the city, as well as take part in various activities and buy fresh fish and local souvenirs.

Sakura Matsuri Cherry Blossom Festival

Come to the St. Petersburg’s Botanical Garden this weekend to stroll under the sprawling foliage of cherry blossoms and experience a touch of Japan in Russia. Guests will also have a chance to play traditional Japanese games, listen to Japanese music, attend workshops and lectures on Japanese art and culture, and try traditional Japanese dishes, tea and desserts.

Trip to Oreshek Fortress

The Oreshek Fortress has recently been opened to the public after a winter break. It’s a great opportunity to get out of the city and enjoy the beautiful view on your way to the fortress, as it is located on an island and only accessible by water. To get there, take the direct bus number 575 from the Ulitsa Dybenko metro station to Shlisselburg, which departs every 20 minutes (the trip takes about 1,5 hours), and when you’re there, get a ferry ticket to the fortress.
