With December 1 on the horizon, we can officially proclaim that winter holidays are creeping up upon us, bringing with them an array of festive ads, fads, and winter fairs. DLT department store’s offering is one of this eyesore-inducing bunch, luring visitors in with its promises of glistening Xmas tree baubles, bountiful wreaths, elaborate cards, balmy candles, merry nutcrackers and ornate snow globes that are joined by mulled wine, gingerbread and chocolate in the aim of making you spend as much money as possible and then some: only the baubles, which is destruction by cat embodied, cost up to 70,000 rubles, apparently, so ho, ho, oof. 

Digital exhibition STENOGRAFFIA X

Organized by Gazprom Neft and Lumiere Hall, the STENOGRAFFIA X digital exhibition brings together some 300 street artists from both Russia and abroad, who decorated over 500 buildings in all kinds of locations, from small towns and villages beyond the polar circle to vibrant megapolises. What is remarkable about this project is that the authors draw inspiration from the culture, history and traditions of each particular region and display those in their work. According to the organizers, the purpose of the event is to transform walls into vivid art objects and change the way people perceive themselves in the urban environment. Admission is free, but it’s necessary to register in advance.

Kommunalka Store fair

Workshops, photoshoots, fashion shows, quests, clothes swaps and a vast display of artisanal goodies from local crafts whizzes: the program of Kommunalka Store leaves no base uncovered and no stone unturned, presenting the whole shebang in the convivial ambiance of a communal flat, a St. Petersburg specialty. The fair will feature one-of-a-kind offerings from accessories and daily planners from vintage knick-knacks and food: yet another opportunity to tick present-buying off your list.

Fifth international festival of gingerbread art “The World of Gingerbread”

This weekend, dozens of gingerbread bakers and pastry chefs from 50 Russian cities and five countries will come to St. Pete to showcase their exquisite work and transform the Northern Venice into a fairytale. Head to the Piterland shopping mall to indulge into the sweet and spicy goodness, take part in a whole range of exciting workshops, become part of a culinary show, discover that gingerbread can be a real work of art, and feel the extraordinary Christmas vibe.
