Snowdrop Day

While spring is only starting to please us with warmth and colors, Snowdrop Day at St. Petersburg Botanical Garden is a lovely way to celebrate the coming of sunny days to the city. For two days, the Garden will open its doors to welcome anyone wishing to see this year's first snowdrops in all their glory. Swathes of flowers, picturesque routes and tours – doesn’t it sound like an ideal spring day out?

Intelligent flea market: pop-up store

Those who feel an inescapable need to be near water on sunny days should pop by the Intelligent Flea Market at Sevkabel Port. The event promises almost a week of treasure hunting – beauty products, clothing and jewelry, ceramics, antiques, and more – combined with live DJ music, cool workshops on upcycling and replanting, as well as public talks with resident designers.

On April 22, DiDi Gallery opens a new exhibition named Architecture of the Past featuring the needlework of St. Petersburg-based artist Sasha Braulov. The exhibition will display ethe artist's exquisite embroidered pieces that explore the themes of cultural heritage, memory, and oblivion. It will take visitors on a unique journey through the many examples of architecture, once progressive and innovative, that are now lost to history forever. 

On the big screen: Whiplash

Luckily, Rodina Сinema keeps on delighting all movie lovers with wide-ranging screenings – and this Saturday, they’re having Whiplash (2014) on! Come and see the harrowing story of an ambitious young drummer in his pursuit to become one of the greats. 

The movie is screened in English with Russian subtitles.
