For two months straight, Marsovo Pole (or the Field of Mars) will provide the setting for an open-air exhibition that is meant to showcase the most significant events in the life of Peter the Great, the founder of St. Petersburg. In the tradition of the city’s 19th century festivities, the exhibition offers a unique chance to not only plunge into the atmosphere of an epoch immortalized in art but also enjoy historical paintings while soaking up the sun in the heart of the city.

This weekend will also kick off with the traditional celebration of school graduates, Scarlet Sails, which will take place on the night of June 24-25. The event will include a jam-packed entertainment program for this year’s graduates and a spectacular firework show (a live stream of the event will be available here starting 10 pm, June 24).
