At this exhibition, you will get to experience the works of Gabriel Wickbold, “one of the most influential Brazilian photographers of today,” as stated on the museum’s webpage. Indeed, by focusing on the perpetual debate about the humans’ place in nature, the artist is bound to engage those perceiving his art into a lively conversation. An abundance of colors and shapes, as well as reimagined human faces, will greet you at this unusual exhibition and guide you into the surreal world created by the artist.

Linden Walks in Pavlovsk Park

You might have noticed the sweet smell of blooming linden trees all around the city and even emanating through the open windows of ITMO’s coworking space on Lomonosova – it’s the linden season! In order to greet it properly, you can head over to Pavlovsk Park, one of our favorites, and enjoy a day out, enveloped in the fragrant smell on a tour of the park, an open-air art workshop, various music performances, or simply reading one of the books that will be offered to visitors for free. Don’t forget to check the weather forecast before you go, as there is a chance of rain on the weekend.

Drive on the big screen

Drive (2011) is an action drama film directed by Danish auteur Nicolas Winding Refn and starring Ryan Gosling. Even though the words “action drama” may cue in some murky and gloomy associations, one of the stand-alone features of Refn’s work is his unusual play with and focus on color, which might be one of the surprises this film holds. FLEISCH exhibition by ITMO students

This exhibition is a result of a collaboration between students, graduates, and lecturers of ITMO’s Art & Science program, who provided the works, and students of the Curatorial Studies program of the Faculty of Liberal Arts and Sciences of St. Petersburg State University, who arranged them in a narrative exploring the human body. Starting from the title, as “Fleisch” is German for “flesh” or “meat,” the visitors are invited to focus on corporeality and join the artists in rediscovering the borders, sounds, and senses of the human body. You will get to see immersive installations, graphics, wearables, video poetry, and more. As a bonus, visiting New Holland Island is always a little adventure in itself, so don’t stop yourself from exploring the space further after enjoying the exhibition.
