Every year, the Vladimir Potanin Foundation hosts a grant competition among the universities participating in its scholarship program. Grant winners can use the funding to create new and update existing Master’s programs and courses; they also receive additional support for professional development initiatives, including by gaining access to relevant events.
This year, the Potanin Foundation supported five projects from ITMO:
- Project Application of XR/AR in Electrochemistry Tutorials by Evgeny Smirnov, an associate professor at the Infochemistry Scientific Center;
- Redesign of the course Based on Practical Investments: Approaches and Tools using ML and remote learning technologies by Andrey Sosnilo, an associate professor at the Faculty of Technological Management and Innovations;
- Module course Computer Modelling Methods by Roman Saveliev, an associate professor at the Faculty of Physics;
- Redesign of the course Natural Language Processing (NLP) Technologies with a focus on developing professional thinking via solution analysis by Olesya Koroteeva, an associate professor at the Information Technologies and Programming Faculty;
- Project Data Analysis Methods and Algorithms in Bioinformatics by Artem Ivanov, a lecturer at the Institute of Applied Computer Science.
A total of 513 applications from 68 universities were submitted for the competition, with 150 lectures becoming winners and sharing 73.5 million rubles in funding.
