    Over the course of a week, participants from Russia, the USA, China, India, Kazakhstan and the Philippines studied new materials of biological origin and how they can be applied in contemporary art and design. An online exhibition of the participants’ artworks was opened following the school’s results.

  • Crossing Single-Celled Organisms With AI: ITMO’s Art & Science Students On Interdisciplinary Art Experiments

    The BIOROBOTY 019 team consists of four students of ITMO’s Master’s program in Art & Science: Alyona Korolyova, Marta Mikhailova, Viktoria Romanova and Svetlana Sidorova. In their work, they combine bioart, robotics, neural networks and artificial intelligence in various unexpected scenarios. Their project Physarum the Fortuneteller, first exhibited at The International Media Art Festival CYFEST-12, was chosen to become part of a major collaborative exhibition to take place in France. ITMO.NEWS talked to Viktoria Romanova, a member of the team, and asked her where the idea to combine bioart with robotics came from and where it has led the artists.

  • Flu Vaccine and Lung Cancer Medication Developed by ITMO Technopark’s Resident Awarded Gold Medals at the iENA 2019 Exhibition in Germany

    The company ATG Service Gene, a resident of ITMO University’s Technopark, was awarded two gold medals at the international exhibition of ideas, inventions and innovations iENA 2019 that recently concluded in the German city of Nuremberg.   • Yagodnoe in Miniature: About the Six-Meter Layout of ITMO’s Sports and Recreation Center

    This year, the Yagodnoe sports and recreation center celebrates its 60th anniversary. Over the years, the camp has brought together thousands of students and graduates and is now a platform for various international and city projects. Visit the Yagodnoe museum to see how the center has developed over time, as well as learn about the most significant events in its history. The museum has recently been replenished with a large exhibit, a six-square-meter interactive layout of the camp. Lake Berestovoye, the pier, pine forests, wooden houses, and sports infrastructure – the authors of the project managed to reconstruct the camp in great detail.
