• Machine Learning and Geological Faults: ITMO Students Take Part in a School by Gazprom Neft

  This spring, the Sirius educational center in Sochi held a school in Infocommunication Technologies Application in the Oil and Gas Industry. At the school organized by the Gazprom Neft Science & Technology Center students learned how machine learning can be used in the mining of mineral resources and created team projects on the topic. First-year students of ITMO’s Master’s program in Big Data and Machine Learning were among the participants of the school.

• RUR 2021 Subject Rankings: ITMO Becomes Top Russian University in Technical Sciences

  The RUR Rankings Agency and Clarivate Analytics have unveiled the 2021 Technical Sciences subject ranking. This year, ITMO has once again been ranked highest among all Russian universities and moved up by 51 positions in the global chart.

• ITMO and Rostelecom Work on a Support Center of the National Cyber Testing Ground

  It will be the first support center in St. Petersburg and the fifth in Russia. The agreement was signed by Igor Lyapunov, vice president of Rostelecom in information security, and Vladimir Vasilyev, rector of ITMO University, at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum on June 4.

• ITMO Students Create Projects for the Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov Memorial Museum-Apartment

  This spring, ITMO University and Art ParkING (a center for modern technologies in art) have organized the AR+T festival. Its participants, Bachelor’s students, have come up with designs for interactive exhibits at a branch of the St. Petersburg State Museum of Theatre and Music. Now they are working on their projects to complete them by autumn.

  Today, on June 9, 2021, the winners of the prestigious international SABRE Awards were announced.
