  • ITMO Researchers Ramp Up X-Ray Laser Research Into Nano- and Biomaterials

    In 2019, a Russian federal program for the development of synchrotron and neutron-focused research was launched. The program will go on until 2027; in that time, new megascience-class projects, such as X-ray lasers, synchrotrons, and neutron generators, are expected to be launched. As part of the program, in 2021 the Russian Ministry of Science and Higher Education announced a contest for research and specialist training. A team of scientists from ITMO University participated in the contest and won with a project on X-ray laser technologies in nano- and biomaterials science.

    The final results of the International Collegiate Programming Contest – ICPC World Finals Moscow have been announced. ITMO University was represented by the Standard Deviation team – this time, Gennady Korotkevich, a PhD student of ITMO University and one of the most prominent programmers in the world, took part in the contest as a coach, not a team member.

  • ITMO University Receives Grant to Fund AI Research Center

    ITMO University’s AI Research Center “Strong AI in Industry” became one of the grant winners in the contest held as part of the federal Artificial Intelligence project. The selection process was conducted by experts of the Analytical Center for the Government of the Russian Federation. The research center will be granted more than 1 billion rubles.
