    A regional ICPC representative office has been established at ITMO University. The office will provide organizational support for ICPC events in Russia and Northern Eurasia. We got to meet the head of this new office, ITMO Alumnus Matvey Kazakov, and ask him what made ITMO University the center of the ICPC movement in Northern Eurasia, the most important thing for a contest participant and the launch of ICPC University.

  • ITMO Ranked Among Top 100 Best IT Universities in THE Computer Science Ranking

    The Times Higher Education (THE) magazine has published its 2019 subject rankings of the world’s best Computer Science and Engineering and Technology universities. For the fourth year in a row, ITMO comes first out of all Russian universities in the Computer Science ranking, keeping its position in the top-100 best universities in the world. The university has also gone up in the Engineering and Technology ranking, where it appears for the third time in a row. In this subject ranking, ITMO University holds the 201-250 place and comes second after Lomonosov Moscow State University out of all Russian universities.

  • Open Doors Competition for Tuition-Free Master’s Studies in Russia: ITMO to Coordinate Computer & Data Science Track

    The organizing committee of the Open Doors international competition has announced the start of the qualification round, which is a portfolio contest, for international prospective Master’s students wanting to study in Russia. 2019 will be the third year that the competition has been hosted. ITMO.NEWS met with Polina Petrusha, Advisor to First Vice Rector, to find out how many winners of last year’s Open Doors enrolled at ITMO, what is needed to pass the portfolio round, and how this year’s competition will differ from the previous ones.

    According to the QS EECA University Rankings 2019/20, ITMO University has once again improved its standing, rising by 10 places and ranking 46th. Every year, QS experts identify the top universities in the developing countries of Europe and Central Asia. This time, 14 Russian universities made it to the top-50.
