Once every six months, the results of the Webometrics Ranking of World Universities are published. In the latest rankings, ITMO University has maintained its position as the sixth top Russian university and rose by five points in the international ranking, placing 831st in the top-1000.

International Team of Scientists Proved How Intestinal Microbiota Can Affect the Flu
An International team of scientists from Washington University School of Medicine (USA) and ITMO University proved experimentally that intestinal microbiota in mice can influence the body’s immune response to the flu. Metabolites, which are formed in our gut, stimulate the increase of interferon which is a protein responsible for suppressing the virus’s replication. The results of the research are published in Science magazine

ITMO and NTU to Collaborate on Academic Mobility Programs
ITMO University was recently visited by a delegation from Nanyang Technological University (NTU). The main topic of the conversation between the two universities was the development of academic mobility programs. As of today, ITMO and NTU are already working together on research in predictive modeling and translational technology. ITMO and South Korea Launch SumIT Startup School
On July 31, ITMO University’s business incubator launched the International SumIT Summer School. This year the acceleration program will welcome young entrepreneurs from South Korea.
