• ITMO’s Russian Language and Culture Summer School: A Passion for Learning

  Since 2016, ITMO University has hosted a Russian language summer school for language learning enthusiasts around the world. This year, from July 1 to 28, the school was held online for the first time with 22 participants from 10 countries including Canada, China, the UK, the USA and several countries in Europe. We talked to a few of the participants to learn about their experiences during the summer school and what attracted them to Russian language and culture.

  Born and raised in Istanbul, Turkey, Serhan Agrali was just fourteen when he left his home town to pursue his dreams, leading him to travel and study in several countries, including the United States, China, and now Russia.   The 12th meeting of ITMO University’s International Council took place on June 10 as a Zoom session that spanned 17 time zones across Australia, Asia, Europe and North America. This gathering, which brings top education experts, usually to a single location, generated a robust discussion of the University’s new strategy and the overall changes in the higher education landscape.

• Prithu Roy: Desire to Be Part of a Unique Experience Brought Me Here

  ITMO student Prithu Roy came from Varanasi, India and is currently enrolled in the Master’s program Nanophotonics and Metamaterials at the Faculty of Physics and Engineering. Before coming to Russia, he finished his Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electronics and Communication) and was also a tutor in advanced mathematics and physics to pre-university students.
