  • Magic of Light: ITMO’s Interactive Exhibition in Shanghai

    An interactive exhibition of holographic installations Magic of Light, organized by ITMO University together with the Hellenic Institute of Holography, has just opened its doors for visitors. The exhibition is hosted on 1,000 square meters of Shanghai Science and Technology Museum and features over 150 items, including ultra-realistic full-color holograms, optoclones from the collection of the Hermitage, the Fabergé Museum, and the Diamond Fund.

    The Times Higher Education magazine has just published the results of the Emerging Economies University Rankings 2019, which features the best higher education institutions in developing countries. In this year’s ranking, which includes a total of 442 universities from 43 countries, ITMO University moved up four positions and was placed 53rd.

  • Poznan University of Technology’s Agnieszka Barczyk on Collaboration with ITMO

    An employee of the Poznan University of Technology, Agnieszka Barczyk has recently visited ITMO University. Back home, in Poland, she helps students develop projects, find investors, and apply for exchange programs abroad. She herself came to St. Petersburg through the Erasmus+ program and hopes that in the future, this program will be fully available for Russian students as well.

  • Creative Technologies: A New Core Course at ITMO University

    In September 2018 ITMO University launched a new core set of disciplines titled ‘Creative Technologies” for first-year Master’s degree students. Based on the experience of leading global universities, the course aims to foster the students’ creative thinking and abilities and consists of online classes involving top creative figures from Russia and abroad. The program was developed by ITMO University’s lighting design experts Natalya Bystryantseva, Ilia Smilga, and Elena Lekus. In an interview with ITMO.NEWS, the course’s authors shared some insights into the new university-wide initiative.
