His love of languages and desire for an education led him from speaking Arabic and English to French and Russian. • Preparing You For the Working World: Summer School in Singapore

  To be successful, you need both professional competencies and soft skills, also known as interpersonal or social skills. Ranked as one of the world’s leading universities, the Nanyang Technological University (NTU) in Singapore launched the Preparing You For the Working World summer school for students from all over the globe. The event is aimed at teaching students valuable soft skills like teamwork, leadership and management skills, and other soft skills. ITMO University and the NTU are already collaborating on academic mobility programs, which gave this year's graduate student Anastasia Volkova, who is going to continue her professional career at ITMO, an opportunity to take part in the summer school.   Maria Renee Marroquín Pineda has recently finished the first year of her Master’s studies at ITMO’s Cryogenic Technology Department. Before entering ITMO University, she spent four years studying ecology at Tver campus of Moscow Humanitarian Economic University (MHEU). Having spent five years in Russia, the Guatemalan student decided to launch her own business in the field of cryogenic technologies. ITMO.NEWS asked her about her experience of studying in Russia and her plans for the future.

• Tsinghua University: Cooperation Opportunities with ITMO

  Representatives of Tsinghua University have recently visited ITMO University. They discussed collaboration opportunities in the field of academic exchange with scientists from the International Institute “Photonics and Optical Information Technology” and other research centers. An agreement on cooperation has already been signed between the two universities. The professors from Taiwan university also shared their ideas in the field of photonics, big data analysis, AI development and electronic engineering. They have also talked about some aspects of teaching in Taiwan.
