  Quacquarelli Symonds (QS), a British company specializing in the analysis of the global higher education market, has unveiled its latest edition of the QS World University Rankings. Like last year, ITMO University is named among the world’s top 400 universities.

• ITMO Strengthens Positions in ShanghaiRanking's Global Ranking of Academic Subjects

  ITMO University has once again been listed among the world’s top 100 universities in the Automation & Control ranking; it has also retained and improved its positions in other subject rankings compiled by ShanghaiRanking Consultancy. In 2021, ITMO increased its presence in the rankings and is now featured in eight subject areas as compared to last year’s seven.

• RAEX Ranks ITMO Among Top 5 Russian Mathematics And Natural Sciences Universities

  The university also took 6th place among Russia’s universities in technology and engineering. The new ranking was created by the RAEX agency in collaboration with the Andrey Melnichenko Foundation. It is based on the most verifiable indicators such as the average score of university applicants, victories at student competitions, the number of publications and patents, as well graduates’ average salaries. This places the ranking’s methodology among the most reliable ones in the Russian market of higher education.

  The RAEX ranking agency has published its first series of subject rankings, consisting of 10 lists of leading universities in various subject areas. ITMO University was included in five of them: Information Technologies; Mechanical Engineering and Robotics; Mathematics; Engineering and Technology; and Economics and Management.

  The Best Global Universities Ranking is published by the American media company U.S. News & World Report. While the company has been assessing the quality of American universities for the past 30 years, it also began compiling an international version in 2014.

• ITMO University Retains Its Position in Academic Ranking of World Universities

  On August 15, a new edition of the Academic Ranking of World Universities was presented. It is considered one of the most objective rankings, as it is compiled on the universities’ bibliometric indicators and takes into account the number of prestigious award winners among their graduates and staff.
