  • Digital Breakthrough Hackathon: 300,000 Rubles for 42 Hours of Coding

    900 IT specialists from all around Russia participated in the recent hackathon Digital Breakthrough. Season: Artificial Intelligence. Over the course of three days, they searched for solutions to cases provided by the event’s partner companies. At the end, the 18 best teams shared the hackathon’s prize pool of 3,600,000 rubles. The competition took place at ITMO University.

    Researchers from ITMO and Tatneft have designed the Digital Expert Council – a smart LLM-based platform for the staff of the oil and gas company. The system can answer questions from various fields of Tatneft’s focus, conduct brainstorming sessions, and assist with strategic decisions.     Researchers from ITMO’s Research Center “Strong AI in Industry” surveyed the trends in development and application of open-source software for machine learning and data processing in Russia. It turned out that Yandex, Sberbank, and T-Bank are the three leaders in Russian open-source solutions. The survey also demonstrated the top five projects in various categories based on the opinions of experts from Russian big tech and universities, as well as open data from GitHub and PyPI.
