How to Start a Career in Radiophysics: Results of an Open Workshop at ITMO University
Recently, ITMO University has hosted a large-scale workshop event with lectures by Russian and international scientists, as well as a roundtable on young specialists’ careers in the field of antenna technology and applied radiophysics. Participation was open for students of St. Petersburg universities. Education Helps You Understand Things, Science Communication – to Explain Them: An Interview with ITMO University Graduate Daniil Shirokov
Daniil Shirokov is one of the first graduates of the Science Communication program at ITMO University. By the time he started his Master’s studies, he already had a Bachelor’s degree in biophysics. Now, Daniil works as a science communicator at one of the biggest private clinics in St. Petersburg while writing a thesis on philosophy. Author and Musician Viacheslav Kovalev on Dreams, Music, Engineering Skills and Business
Having been a student at ITMO University in the ‘80s, Viacheslav Kovalev still remembers the atmosphere of that time. Since then, he has built a career as a musician and is now a coordinator of LADЫ sound cafe, designed to support young music bands. Daniil Sharov on Being a Physicist and a Science Communicator
Daniil Sharov received his Bachelor’s degree as a teacher of physics, but decided to continue his studies after graduation and got into ITMO’s Master’s program in science communication. Having received her Bachelor’s degree in the field of quality management, ITMO University graduate Elizaveta Babitskaya decided to dramatically change her career and enrolled in ITMO University’s Master’s program in science communication. ITMO University Graduate On Working in Public Service and Studies at ITMO
Elena Senicheva entered ITMO University’s Department of State Information Systems Management thanks to the victory in the Prof-IT Russian regional competition, organized by the E-Government Center. In this competition, local and regional authorities from all over Russia present their IT projects focusing on innovations and IT solutions that can benefit the development of various sectors of the Russian economy. The competition’s winners get a chance to study at ITMO University. Before joining ITMO as a Master’s student, Elena worked for 13 years at the Department of Land and Property Relations in Rostov-on-Don, and after that, she left the public service to work in a commercial company.
