• ITMO’s Record-Breaking 2023 Admissions Campaign: Even More Applications From Talented Students

  As the 2023 admissions campaign comes to a close, ITMO has announced its first results: the university has received a total of 17,000 applications to its Bachelor’s and Specialist’s programs, which is 4,000 more than in 2022. 1,378 students were admitted to tuition-free positions and a record-breaking 26 were welcomed to the university via the ITMO.STARS talent competition.

• ITMO Scientists Develop Simple Method to Create Durable Anti-Fraud Trademarks

  ITMO University physicists collaborated with experts from Laser Center to develop a new production method for holographic anti-fraud trademarks. With the new technology, it is possible to print unique multicolor 3D holograms on any metal products to protect them from counterfeit. Apart from being highly durable, the trademarks can be made using minimal equipment. The developers claim that this method is cheaper and more secure than the conventional holographic stickers.

• ITMO and ASCON Develop Mockup to Automate Large-Scale Production

  ITMO’s Engineering and Technology Center and Russian engineering software company ASCON have developed a mockup of a smart factory that has the potential to increase production efficiency and produce quality through planning and management. The solution was presented at the international conference INNOPROM 2023 in Yekaterinburg.

  As a teen, Evgeny Nekrasov lost his vision and his right hand in an accident. Having learned to live with his disability, Evgeny successfully completed his Bachelor's and Master's degrees. He has since landed a job as a DevOps engineer at VK and launched his own project.
