• ITMO University Rises Higher in THE Physical Sciences Subject Ranking

  The latest Times Higher Education subject ranking of world universities in the field of Physical Sciences has just been published. ITMO University made its debut in the ranking last year in the 401-500 place. In this year’s ranking, which includes a total of 963 universities, ITMO University improved its position and was placed 301-400.

• Clarivate Analytics Expert Shares International Academic Collaboration Insights

  Collaborations with leading scientists and co-authorship of scientific works are a major goal on the Russian universities’ path to rising higher in international rankings. For instance, the presence of highly-cited researchers, along with Nobel and Fields laureates, is one of the assessment criteria in the Shanghai University Ranking (ARWU), in which ITMO University debuted this year. • ITMO University Moves Up in QS BRICS Ranking

  ITMO University has improved its position in this year’s QS BRICS 2018/19 ranking, moving up 11 places and placing 64th in the Top-400. Every year, the ranking evaluates the performance of universities in the five BRICS countries: Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa.

• ITMO University Enters Academic Ranking of World Universities for the First Time

  ITMO University has entered the Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU), widely known as the Shanghai Ranking. Considered one of the most objective rankings, it takes into account the universities’ bibliometric indexes and the prevalence of prestigious awards among their graduates and staff. ITMO University entered the ranking in the 801-900 position.

• ITMO Named in Top-10 of Forbes Ranking

  Forbes Russia released its first ranking of Russian universities that assess the quality of education in  Russia, and projects which higher education establishments train those who will come to be included in its listings of successful entrepreneurs and members of the "political elite". ITMO University was placed 7th, becoming St. Petersburg's only university in the top-10.

• ITMO U Takes Second Place in Digital Internationalization

  While QS-Apple creative awards acknowledged ITMO University with a Bronze prize for the Best International Website page back in 2016, here in Russia, the internationalization efforts of the university on the web are receiving focus from the Russian International Affairs Council who placed ITMO second in terms of digital internationalization.

• ITMO University Makes It Into Top 20 in Annual Russian Universities Ranking

  The rating agency RAEX has published its seventh annual ranking of Russian universities. In 2017, ITMO University was part of the top-20. This time around, the university has gone up four positions and is now 15th in the general ranking. The ranking agency has also noted that ITMO has the highest growth dynamic among the top 20 universities.

• ITMO University Up by 100 in QS World University Rankings

  The results of this year’s QS World University Ranking, published annually by the Quacquarelli Symonds company, have now been published. This year, QS assessed 4,763 universities (out of the world’s 26,000) from 151 countries, which is 463 more educational establishments than last year. The final ranking includes 1,011 universities from 85 countries. Last year, ITMO University made its debut in the ranking in the 601-650 position, which placed it in the top 2% of the planet’s universities; this year, the university was ranked 511-520, almost a 100 positions higher than its previous result.

• ITMO University Among Interfax’s Top 10 Russian Universities

  The results of Interfax news agency’s 9th National University Ranking have recently been published. In the ranking, ITMO University has successfully kept its position in the top-10. It is the second best in the country in the Internationalization criteria and fourth in Research. A total of 288 universities were assessed as part of the ranking, which is 23 more than in 2017.

• ITMO University Climbs 100 Positions in QS Computer Science & Information Systems Subject Ranking

  QS has revealed today its 2018 World University Rankings by Subject. This year, one of the most influential rankings in the world reviewed the performance of over 1,000 universities from 151 countries. QS researchers ranked the universities in 48 subjects and five general subject areas. ITMO University is now present in three subject rankings and, for the first time ever, is included in the Engineering & Technology subject area. ITMO’s highest position is in the Computer Science & Information Systems ranking, where it has gone up by 100 spots as compared to last year.
