  • ITMO Scientists Win the First Blue Sky Research Innovative Scientific Projects Contest

    The award ceremony of the experimental innovative scientific projects competition Blue Sky Research – Artificial Intelligence in Science was held in St. Petersburg on December 13. The contest’s prize pool amounted to 15 million rubles. Thirty young scientists from St. Petersburg, Moscow, Rostov-on-Don, and Krasnoyarsk made it to the finals. Their teams worked on interdisciplinary projects combining artificial intelligence, chemistry, and synthetic biology. Among them were four teams from ITMO University.

    The annual awards ceremony in honor of St. Petersburg’s best graduates was recently held at the Peter and Paul Fortress. Among the top graduates was Anna Voloshina who completed her Master’s degree at ITMO’s Faculty of Technological Management and Innovations and is also an employee at ITMO’s Strategic Communications Department.


  • ITMO Scientist Andrey Bogdanov Receives Euler Prize from the Government of St. Petersburg and the Russian Academy of Sciences

    Andrey Bogdanov, a senior research associate at ITMO’s Faculty of Physics and the head of the Nanophotonics and Metamaterials Master’s program, was recognized by the Government of St. Petersburg and the city’s Scientific Center for his contribution to science.

    The annual Awards Ceremony has been recently held in the Peter and Paul Fortress to honor the best graduates of St. Petersburg universities. The Acting Governor of St. Petersburg Alexander Beglov, and the Chairman of Rectors’ Union of St. Petersburg and Leningrad Oblast Andrey Demidov gathered to congratulate the young experts. ITMO University was represented by Meruert Nurysheva, a Master’s student at the Faculty of Cryogenic Engineering and Vice-Chair of the International Student Club.
